Through this page we try to provide a series of answers to the classic questions that are addressed to us punctually in order to provide direct information of public utility for those who are going to book at our House.
- Is the tourist tax included in the price of the room?
No, the tourist tax that the City of Rome imposes on non-resident guests – of € 3.50 per person per night (for Holiday Houses) – is not included in the price of the room booked. The tax is calculated in the final bill according to the number of people (except for exemptions) up to a maximum of 10 nights in total in the calendar year.
- Are there any exemptions for the tourist tax?
Yes, there are. The Regulation governing the city tax provides for several exemptions:
Residents in the Municipality of Rome, minors under 10 years of age, sick people and those who assist patients hospitalized in health facilities (The patient and the accompanying person must self-certify that the overnight stays are related to the need for care of the resident or assistance of the accompanying person towards the resident), The staff of the State Police and other Armed Forces who carry out law and order and public safety activities , the coach drivers; the tour guides (one for every 25 people). The right to exemption must be documented.
- Is the guest informed about the city tax before making the reservation?
Yes, at the time of booking, Guests are informed in advance of the presence of the city tax. In addition, in the email is always specified the amount of the city tax (taking into account the total number of guests, the days of stay and any exemptions) which is a municipal tourist tax entirely devolved to the City of Rome.
- How do I access the Wi-Fi network?
For access to the wireless network of the “Virgen del Pilar” guesthouse, a wireless network access key is required and is issued at the reception desk upon check-in.
- Does the WI-FI have an extra cost?
No, the service is free!
- Is there the possibility to leave the baggage in custody before and/or after check-out?
Yes, we have a luggage deposit at our Guests’ disposal with the possibility to leave your bags before check-in or after check-out.
- Do you have a private parking ?
Yes, we have a private parking for cars and minibuses (25 seatswith direct access to our Holiday House.
- Does the car parking have an extra cost?
No, the parking service (reserved to the guests of the House) has no extra cost and is included in the package offered at the time of booking.
- Do you only offer breakfast service?
Yes, our dining room is not used for lunch or dinner service ( except for groups on request).
- Does the House have opening and closing times?
Yes, our House opens at 7.00 am and closes at midnight.
- Are you far from the Vatican?
No, only 7 minutes by taxi to Largo di Porta Cavalleggeri, 3 km away. In addition to the taxi, the fastest way to reach the Vatican State is the train to take at the Quattro Venti Station for 1 stop at a cost of 1 € to St. Peter’s Station. St Peter’s Square can also be reached on foot in about 35 minutes across the Janiculum.
- Are you near subway and bus stops?
Yes, in front of the entrance of the Holiday House there is the bus stop of the bus line n°75 to reach the city centre. The nearest metro stops are Metro A Valle Aurelia that can be reached from Quattro Venti Station ( 7 minutes walk from the house) with 1 train stop (6 minutes) and Metro B “Pyramid” (it can be reached by taking bus 75 until the stop Porta San Paolo)
- Do you have rooms with private bathroom?
Yes, all our rooms have private bathroom inside.
- Do we have to bring sheets, towels and hairdryer?
It is not necessary, our structure provides all the listed accessories.
- Do you have laundry, drying and ironing service?
Yes, we have these services. The washing machine and dryer are additional services that work with coins to be requested at the Reception (4,00 € per coin). It is possible to use the laundry during the afternoon hours. We also have an ironing room with iron and ironing board.
- Can you iron or cook in your room?
No, for safety reasons you cannot use any type of household appliance in the rooms. There is a special room for ironing clothes.
- Are the rooms equipped with television?
Not at the moment. We provide a TV for your entertainment in a common room on the first floor.
- Are pets allowed?
No. For the sake of the animals and the guests, pets are not allowed. Not even small pets.
